Dear Hexagon Patrons,
As we continue to navigate difficult times, Hexagon continues to take the wellness and health of our patrons and members to heart. Ever a group of optimists, we hope for the best and will be sure to keep you updated on any new Hexagon activities.
In the meantime, please visit the CDC website for guidelines and “What You Need to Know” about Coronavirus Disease during stressful times.
Thank you for your support of Hexagon!
Winner of the “Best of the Fest” Audience Award at the 2017 and 2018 Capital Fringe Festival, Hexagon is Washington, D.C.’s only original political satirical musical comedy revue. We are a proud nonprofit organization composed of volunteers who come together each year to create entertaining theatre to raise money for local charities.
In November 1955, a group of young Washingtonians and a former member of the famed all-male Princeton Triangle Club decided to put on a show devoted to “pure fun and nonsense.” They called the new group Hexagon—double the Triangle symbol—to represent the inclusion of women. After the show, the organizers found themselves with $3,500 in profits, which they donated to the American Cancer Society. Since 1956, Hexagon has raised more than $3.5 million donated to 40-plus organizations.
Today, Hexagon members are students, teachers, construction workers, medical professionals, plumbers, lawyers, congressional aides, entrepreneurs, engineers, journalists…people of all collar colors and political persuasions…you get the picture. From age 18 to—well, let’s just say, older.
